Right.
First of all, I spent the entire fucking day alone at home doing nothing but playing in a boring server in NwN. Didn't think anyone would call me either so it doesn't matter. As I said, I don't expect much. I don't really like going around screaming and blatantly announcing, "hey it's my birthday, go out with me!" I'm not that sort. But I don't care. Do I? *shrugs*
Yesterday I received a card from Pat's mom, sister and buddy. It came as a pleasant surprise, because I didn't think they'd even know my address.. But it was sweet. The problem is, it came in a bright red envelope and my mother was eyeing me the whole time until I opened it, and when I exclaimed that it was from Pat's mom, she looked shocked and at a loss for words. *laughs*
For the first time in years, I celebrated my birthday with my family, even though it was only 10 minutes of singing the birthday song and eating cake. Even when I woke up this morning with a sore throat and in high spirits. The mood died down eventually through the day while I was alone. And here's a picture of my cake.
Anyhow, I received a recorded Dutch birthday song from a friend in Belgium. I have to hold his name because he asked me not to tell anyone it was him. Heh. You can listen to it here (right-click save as). It's funny because he had a cold when he recorded it.

But one of the best presents I've ever received is this:
It made up for everything. When my mom got home the first thing I did was to grab her key, run downstairs and open the letterbox. I found a long white envelope inside, and when I opened the envelope I laughed because of the facial expressions of the shoulder angel and devil. So cute.
I'm moody now.
Seems like so many people forgot.
Ah well, perhaps I should get used to it.
