It has been an amazingly LONG day, that's for sure.
I found a job as a salesperson in e-games Interactive, at Orchard Cineleisure. To tell you the truth, I didn't really find the job per se, Garreth SMS'ed me while I was on the way to school yesterday and asked if I was interested in a job at a games shop. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity. When I asked him why he SMS'ed me about it, he just said that for some reason, my name popped into his head when his friend asked him for recommendations.
So after lunch with Jeremiah, Siew Ling, Irene and Meiling, Garry and I headed down to Somerset where I had to fill up a form and be interviewed. It wasn't really that bad. I mean, I have been there before, but only as a customer, and I was lamenting about the fact that they don't stock AVP2 anymore. Looks like I don't have to get it now, considering my schedule. I will hardly have time to play NwN now, let alone AVP2.
After the interview, I went home to change my bag and shoes, then met the AMCD2 0411A guys at Newton for dinner, after which we went down to Zouk. They wouldn't let Jessie in though, because she didn't have her passport with her. Velvet didn't even let James, Nader or Elice through either. So we went to the Newsroom Bar instead. It wasn't that bad. I got a little more than buzzed and did quite a bit of dancing (note: I can't dance), so by 2am when everyone else had gone back, only Jaymee, Garry, Gene and his friend Damien were left. Took a lift from Gene, and went to Al-Ameen for supper.
Contradicted Garry about almost every little thing. Fun. Hahaha.
Gene then sent me home, and I stayed home since, as I had terrible leg cramps when I woke up. And a fever too. I'm better now, though. Much better. I still have sore legs and arms, but I'll be fine sooner or later.
The guy from e-games (Jason, I think) called me up earlier to tell me I have been hired, and that I start work tomorrow. My first reaction was, "TOMORROW?! But Garry told me MONDAY!" but I agreed to be there at 12pm. So, yeah. I start work tomorrow.
When I told some of the MD'ers and my close friends about the job, they kept on saying that there wasn't a better job out there for me, that it's my kinda thing. For now, I can't agree more, but I'll have to see how things go before making any sort of conclusion. Promised to treat Garry to lunch on my first paycheck, as he was the one who roped me in.
Now, I'm nervous as hell.
