Well, my time here is running out.

I'm leaving in about five hours to the Tucson International Airport where I will board a plane to Phoenix, where I will board ANOTHER plane to San Francisco, then wait there for five hours for my next flight to Seoul, Korea, where I will reboard that same plane and continue on my way to Singapore.

Sounds quick, doesn't it?

Well, let's put it this way.

May 31st
0400 - Wake up to leave for airport.
0445 - Reach airport.
0545 - Plane leaves Tucson for Phoenix.
0631 - Plane lands in Phoenix.
0710 - Plane leaves Phoenix for San Francisco.
0906 - Plane lands in San Francisco.
1420 - Plane leaves San Francisco for Seoul.

June 1
Undetermined time - Plane lands in Seoul.
Undetermined time - Plane leaves Seoul for Singapore.

June 2
0100 - Plane lands in Singapore.

I'm 'technically' travelling for TWO DAYS STRAIGHT.

And worse, my period just came, hand-in-hand with my wonderful friend called MENSTRUAL CRAMPS. I'm pissy, really. VERY pissy. Gragh, sometimes I hate being a woman, honestly.

Well, I'm almost done packing. Needless to say I'm going to miss it here, and all the freedom I had. All that time away from my parents, too. I miss them, but I sure as hell don't miss the nagging I get from them. They seem pretty psyched that I'm coming home, though.. so hopefully things will work out all right.

This is why I keep out of Singaporean politics.

Because of the idiots that get themselves involved.

Man throws 2 kids, self off 15th floor of hotel

B-but.. where's the red thread?

(Sorry, I'm being insensitive)

So I don't know why, but I got addicted to Nintendogs again (thanks Chris, for the Daschund copy you "swore" was mine when I lost mine during an IT exhibition :P) and I'm taking them for walks every half an hour. It's almost funny, I tell the WoW'ers that I'm taking my dog for a walk, and knowing me, they went, "Your REAL dogs?" Bah. Damned gnome mages. *shakes fist*

So being in Tucson is BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING.

ONLY because I can't drive in traffic without a license. Even the closest convenience store is almost mile away. BUT I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE (an automatic) NOW (just.. not past 30 miles an hour, and I can't fucking park. And I turn too quick..)! But I'm definitely not going to walk around in the afternoon 45?C sun (again. I did that once... Never again). So yeah, it's kinda boring here, I'm still staying with Chris' parents and they're all pretty nice, but they work and travel a lot so I don't get to go out a lot unless I'm playing with Fenner or killing cockroaches.

So I do a lot of Photoshop (my new theme is Polaroids and coffee stains) and listen to a lot of music (and comedy, my new obsession. Or a combination of both, but my parents would probably find what I'm listening to distasteful), and I was surfing around the Internet, of course.

Found that Rhapsody, a Real Media music program was collecting dust in the harddrive, so I caved in (laugh, Chris, laugh) and signed up for a monthly subscription. I've discovered so much music since then. Like the Sugarhill Gang, and Styx. And Brad Paisley.

So yeah, update on pre-travelling home me.
Nothing new, except for those Photoshop things.

Here are some examples of what I've been doing. Still experimenting though.
Sure beats typical, boring metallic frames.

Chris and Perlin

Taken during our trip in Vegas, used a fridge magnet, and an ACTUAL FRIDGE omg.

Perlin and Emily

Taken during our trip to Hooters in Boise. Never going there again. I was dry on ideas, and Karl came up with the 'cluttered desk' idea, so here it is. Not very well done, but I tried. Random photos taken and thrown together to form a sort of cluttered desk. I like the way it turned out though.

Morwennia

Commissioned as a 'picture message' for her new beau. Again, pressed for background ideas, so made a paperbag design based off WinCo Foods supermarket paperbag, especially since I've been to one of those in Boise countless times for groceries. Cooking for three grown people each time = hard.

Karl and Perlin

This one was actually too small to work with; I had to extend it further so it'd fit in the Polaroid frame. I wasn't so dry on this one, I saw the corkboard just behind my bed, and decided to use that idea.

Noticed the Polaroid and coffeestains in all four pictures? Yeah, that's my new theme, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to keep my mind fresh, but it's hard to do so when I have a lot to think about.

Ohmygod.

So I come out of the bathroom from a nice warm shower this evening, and guess what I see just CRAWLING AROUND THE CARPET?!

I'm still disguested, really..

TWENTY-ODD BABY COCKROACHES JUST LOITERING!

I managed to get most of 'em but I know there are still many more just... waiting to emerge out from the darkness. Ohmygod.

I'm...

... going to go into a corner and cry, now.

CHRIS! What the hell did you do to get rid of all of 'em?! I don't wanna take them home with me to Singapore, damn it! Hellllllllllllllllp! *stomps on imaginary cockroach babies*

When life throws you lemons, you should make lemonade.
Then try to find someone whose life throws them vodka
And have a blast.

My trip is coming to an end. I'll be here one more week, and it doesn't feel like I've already been here for almost three months. Six days. Six more days in this country, and I'm not sure when I'll ever be back, due to my financial situation. I've got offers to travel on their tab, but being a traditionalist conservative, I politely declined. Most of them, at least. I offered to pay half, but he said no. Oh well. I'm going to miss it all, really. All the freedom (or lack thereof) that I had, the fact that I'm living alone and away from my parents. It's good to be away from them for a while, seriously.

I've even been stocking up on bubble gum so I can enjoy at least ONE luxury while I'm home again.

I called my mother at four in the morning (here, at least) last night, and they all seem all right without me back home. She does know that eventually I want to move to the USA, so I guess she understands. Somewhat.

Most of all, gonna miss hanging out with the guildies and friends I've met up with throughout my trip. They're a cool buncha people, and no matter what my mother tells me ("They could be old and balding and sexually starved, you know! What if they take advantage of you har?!"), I've seen otherwise. Chris, Ryan, TDM, Jon, Em, Aaron, and Karl. They're pretty much what they are in real life what they portray in-game.

Yeah. Can't wait to go home.

More updates.

Now, with pictures!

So. Being Singaporean and never having been to cold climates, I have never seen snow before, and told the Kathmanns as much. Both Katie and John exclaimed that Karl HAD to take me up to the mountains to just be in close proximity of (and touch) fat least a bit of snow. Now, I didn't know that the drive was going to be that long, so I got trigger happy with my camera. Sorta. Most of the pictures didn't turn out.

For the first time in my life, I saw snow.

... It was cold and crunchy, but the sun was shining so bright, it didn't really feel all that cold after all. I wrote it off as the fact that it was dry so the snow would melt slower. Played in it for a little bit and nearly threw a snowball at Karl. But if there's anything I learned about being a passenger, it is NOT to annoy the driver, so I threw it at a tree instead.

The top of Bogus Basin is actually a ski resort of sorts, and I snapped a picture of the ski-lifts. Like I said, trigger happy. It's pretty up there, though. It's just begun to melt, so you see patches of brown dirt here and there, and the trees poking out from the white.

Isn't it pretty? Kinda dirty.. But still SNOW! We even took a picture in it!

... Sorta. Listen, I'm short, and he's a full foot taller than I am, alright? Cut me some fucking slack dammit :P

It was a pretty long drive...

...so I got kinda crazy in the car.

Actually, one of the reasons for my craziness was because...

... Karl was singing along to Daft Punk to the CD player that skips every time he does a left turn, be it gentle or fast.

Remember how I said that Karl lives right next to a lake? Other than a flight of stairs in the way, this is what the lake looks like from his apartment door.

Isn't it pretty? A gaggle of geese live there too. Noisy fuckers.

On Thursday, my last night in Boise, I decided to hang out at Karl's workplace. And when I say hang out, it meant that I was there from 10am when he started his shift to 6pm when he knocked off. He was supposed to leave at 8, but I got lucky. His colleagues are pretty cool, great fun to talk to and mess around with (regarding my ethnicity, hahaha). Katie and John even dropped by for a late lunch. Had fun talking to them too, told me about Karl when he was a kid and when they were in West Virginia, New Mexico etc. Funny stories!

After his shift, we hung out a little bit before heading down to a bar in downtown Boise (also known as BoDo.. lol.. bodoh sekali sial!) called The Bouquet. Wasn't too bad. They serve their drinks with al-- No. They serve their alcohol with just a hint of whatever drink you wanted with it. It's great! A colleague of Karl's was performing there as the headliner (La Fleur) that night, so needless to say we all got pretty drunk.

Taylor kept asking if I wanted to smoke weed.
But I am a good girl, so I didn't.
I stuck to my cloves.

La Fleur in action, and Taylor in the red t-shirt on the dance floor. :P

So, like I said... it was my last night in Boise, Idaho. But definitely not my last night in the United States just yet. I packed up all my stuff and Karl hauled some stuff into a duffel bag for the weekend, climbed into the car and drove a whole seven hours to Vancouver, Washington where...

...I snuck up behind Aaron (Kori/Vincent) and snapped a pic!

It was an interesting weekend in Vancouver. Much beer was had and much Guitar Hero played by the three of us. The song "I Love Rock and Roll" is stuck in my head now, burned into my memory. Oh, and trust me when I say that Karl is hilarious because/when he's drunk.

Did I mention we had beer?

I love his shirt. :D

A beer (or five) also makes you do funny things. (his t-shirt is cool, too!)

... Like biting the head off someone.

... Or making funny faces.

But Aaron was sad, as he was the designated driver, and only had two beers.

... which of course he blamed me for.

So I decided to watch Karl play some Metroid Prime: Hunters on his DS.

I got wtfpwned by him though. *sad face*

... so I decided to see what it's like to be a DS.

Like I said, much drunkedness was abound.

Monday came, and I had to leave. We said our tearful goodbyes, exchanged hugs and I went through the security checkpoint in Portland. It had been a pretty good vacation, and now I'm sitting back here in Tucson. Don't get me wrong, I like it here too. I'm back to my gaming self.

Whee!

Cinco de Mayo!

I know, I know. A little late.

Didn't really feel any need to do any writing recently, really. I just kinda walk around the lake, in the freezing cold (sure, laugh at me. It's only 52?F here after all) or just walk around in general. Moping would be a better word for the lack of better things to do. But World of Warcraft is goooooooooood.

So like the title suggests, it was the fifth of May. Apparently, it is yet another excuse for Americans to go on a drinking spree, other than Saint Patrick's Day on March 17th. Which is technically what Karl and I did. We drank. Not as much as his brother Matt, though who was already shitfaced when Karl and I got to the party. It was interesting, watching the bobble-headed Matt in the arms of his best friend Cody. Karl also admitted that some part of him wanted to laugh and the other part of him wanted to send him to the hospital to have his stomach pumped. Poor guy. At least he seemed like he felt a lot better when Karl and I went to his parents' for dinner yesterday.

Saturday wasn't at all uneventful. I spent the ENTIRE evening at the Flying Pie Pizzaria where Karl works (best pizza EVAH! And I got to make my own last Wednesday, too!) doing nothing but drawing and chatting with his colleagues and various customers, even getting into a discussion on language and culture at some point. It was by far the most interesting visit to the place I have had, besides the time Karl brought me there for an animefest. Good times.

Last week, Jon and Emily (Saigh and Elemesnedene) drove five hours from Utah to visit Karl and myself. It only took five hours because according to Jon, they took a wrong turn thanks to Emily, who taught me a whole new way to annoy Jon ("wee-u-wee-u-wee-u-wee-u-wee-u-wee-u!"). But it was fun times, fun times. Here, I have some pictures to prove it!

Did I mention how Karl and I got indigestion and/or mild food poisoning from Hooters? According to him, that place is mostly just "tits and ass, and maybe food". Which is mostly true. Some of their faces aren't even worth looking at.

So here you go; pictures!

Jon and Karl :D

Jon and Karl again :D

Em and myself

And Jon in his new Hooters trucker cap (It says "Nice Rack") at the zoo. I knew I should've taken a picture of Em's purple monkey thing!

:)

To whoever you are, wherever you are, I love you. I probably don't know you yet, but when I do, I'll know, and so will you. And you'll love me for who I am, as will I.

You might be living in my neighbourhood, or some other town or country far away. I don't know. And neither do you, at this point.

Wherever you are, I know I'll find you... if you don't find me first.

It's just a matter of time.
